Located on the causeway coastline and created from the aftermath of volcanic rock cooling. There are over 40,000 hexagonal basalt columns interlocking. This is truly an amazing location and is also a UNESCO world heritage site. This image was taken just after sunrise and before the rain clouds opened up for the day ahead. It’s a very moody image which reflected that rainy morning and dark skies. I particularly like the contrast of the sea and the sky against the textures of the volcanic rock.
